Welcome to the Texas Mayflower Society website!
The Texas Mayflower Society — legally known as The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Texas, Inc. — was chartered on December 24, 1931, the result of a small group of Mayflower descendants, brought together by Wilber Leslie Evans, who believed Texas deserved a Society of its own. The first official meeting was held on February 5, 1932, in the Rose Room of the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, with just seven members present and proxies arriving from as far as Houston, Austin, Lockhart, and Palestine — a fittingly statewide beginning for what has grown into one of the largest member societies within The General Society of Mayflower Descendants, with nearly 1,500 members today.

Explore our nine Colonies across Texas, learn about our Junior members and educational programs, or reach out to one of our Historians to begin tracing your lineage.

The Texas Society works to engage the public through education and understanding of the Mayflower Pilgrims' voyage and why their journey matters and how it shaped our world today.
